Cavaliers Clinch Playoff Spot With Win Over Hornets

Mitchell, Allen, and Mobley Lead the Cavs' Dominant Defense

Capela's Absence Proves Costly for the Magic

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland Cavaliers secured their spot in the playoffs with a 109-88 victory over the Charlotte Hornets in the final game of the regular season. The win propelled the Cavs to the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference, setting up a first-round matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Donovan Mitchell led the Cavs' offensive charge with 33 points, while Jarrett Allen dominated in the paint with 29 points and 13 rebounds. Evan Mobley also played a significant role, contributing with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks. The Cavs' defense proved to be their strength throughout the game, holding the Hornets to just 33.3% shooting from the field.

The Hornets' offense struggled without their leading scorer, LaMelo Ball, who was injured in the previous game. Terry Rozier led the way for Charlotte with 25 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Cavs' balanced attack.

In the Eastern Conference, the Milwaukee Bucks clinched the top seed, followed by the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Brooklyn Nets, and Miami Heat. The playoffs are set to begin on Saturday, April 15, with the Cavaliers facing the 76ers in Game 1.
