Uniform Policy for Air Force Bands
Overview
The United States Air Force (USAF) has a comprehensive uniform policy in place for all members of its bands. This policy includes guidelines on the proper wear of the USAF band uniform, as well as the aeronautical badge and other approved insignia. Aeronautical Badge
The aeronautical badge is a permanent award presented to Air Force personnel who have met specific requirements related to aeronautical operations. The badge is worn on the left breast pocket of the uniform and constitutes authority for the wearer to perform aeronautical duties.
Ranks
Personnel assigned to the United States Air Force Band, the United States Air Force Academy Band, and regional bands are required to wear ranks on their lightweight blue jackets. The ranks should be sewn on the right sleeve of the jacket, in accordance with Air Force regulations.
