Copa América: Argentina Beat Canada 2-0 to Reach Final

Messi Scores, Alvarez Adds Second

Argentina reached the final of the Copa América on Tuesday after beating Canada 2-0 in a semi-final match. Lionel Messi scored the opening goal for Argentina in the 10th minute, while Julian Alvarez added a second in the 57th minute.

Argentina dominated the match from the start, creating a number of chances. Messi had the best chance to open the scoring in the 5th minute, but his shot was saved by Canada goalkeeper Milan Borjan. However, Messi made no mistake five minutes later when he fired a low shot into the bottom corner of the net.

Canada had a few chances to equalize, but they were unable to find the back of the net. Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez made a number of saves to keep Canada at bay, including a brilliant stop from Alphonso Davies in the 30th minute.

Argentina continued to press for more goals in the second half, and they were rewarded when Alvarez scored a superb goal in the 57th minute. The Manchester City forward received the ball on the left wing and cut inside before firing a powerful shot into the top corner of the net.

Canada pushed for a goal in the closing stages, but Argentina held on to secure a comfortable victory. Messi was named man of the match for his outstanding performance.
