2024 WNBA Draft: Indiana Fever Select Caitlin Clark With No. 1 Pick
Indiana Fever Make History with Top Pick
The 2024 WNBA Draft is in the books and as expected, the Indiana Fever selected Caitlin Clark with the No. 1 overall pick. The Fever had the worst record in the league last season, so it was no surprise that they were awarded the top pick in the draft.
Clark is a 6'1" guard from Iowa who is considered to be one of the best prospects in the country. She is a three-time AP All-America First Team selection and was the 2021-22 Big Ten Player of the Year. Clark averaged 27.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 8.0 assists per game for the Hawkeyes last season.
The Fever also selected Aliyah Boston of South Carolina with the No. 3 overall pick. Boston is a 6'5" center who is considered to be one of the best defenders in the country. She was the 2022 AP Player of the Year and was named to the All-ACC First Team three times.
Conclusion
The Fever made a splash in the 2024 WNBA Draft by selecting two of the best prospects in the country. Clark and Boston are both expected to be immediate contributors for the Fever and should help the team improve on their league-worst record from last season.
