Tom Brady Returns to Practice as Bucs Prepare for Saints

Wide Receiver Breshad Perriman and Defensive End Will Gholston Promoted to Active Roster

TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have elevated wide receiver Breshad Perriman and defensive end Will Gholston from the practice squad to the active roster ahead of their Week 2 matchup against the New Orleans Saints.

Perriman, 29, has played in 91 career games with 28 starts, catching 169 passes for 2,780 yards and 16 touchdowns. He spent the majority of the 2022 season with the Chicago Bears and has also had stints with the Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, New York Giants, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Gholston, 30, has played in 114 career games with nine starts, recording 131 tackles, 16.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. He spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Buccaneers before signing with the Arizona Cardinals in 2022.

The Bucs are hoping that Perriman and Gholston can provide some much-needed depth to a team that is already dealing with several injuries. Wide receiver Mike Evans is out indefinitely with a calf strain, and defensive tackle Akiem Hicks is also expected to miss multiple games with a foot injury.

The Bucs will host the Saints on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1:00 PM ET.
